About Us

Since taking over the Stephan Langton Inn in May 2015, new owners Anneliese & Lee are passionate about restoring the excellent reputation the Inn has enjoyed in previous years. Already noted as the place to eat by ‘Surrey Life’ and ‘The Sunday Times’ their focus on good quality traditional food and drink are clearly being noticed. With major changes already made to the look and feel of the Inn and nominated by guests as ‘Dog-friendly Pub of the Year’ (dogs are permitted in the snug & bar area, not in the restaurant), the Stephan Langton Inn is quickly rising through the ranks on TripAdvisor as a recommended Surrey country pub and restaurant.

IMG_9843Featuring local ale, fine wine (supplied by local independent retailer ‘The Vineyard’ as well as Chelsea’s Haynes, Hanson & Clark)  and freshly prepared produce, locally sourced wherever possible, the new offering at the Inn prides itself on quality and consistency, from the kitchen to the table and on outstanding customer service.

With plans for development both inside and out (check out the new woodburners) the new owners have already made a start by freshening up the look and feel of Inn and invested in major refurbishment on items that make a difference. Of course everything takes time, so please bear with us while we make our improvements.

Beef meal fine dining-smlWhether you are visiting for a light lunch, special dinner, corporate event or simply a cup of coffee (and rather fine coffee it is – freshly ground and available as a latte, espresso or cappuchino. And then there’s our delicious hot chocolate, with or without cream and marshmallows, or remind yourself of the slopes and add a drop of rum…) our team will be happy to welcome you – smiles guaranteed. (Please tell us if they don’t…)

Then of course there’s the history of Stephan Langton and his place in Surrey Folklore – we are currently busy researching Stephan/Stephen Langton’s connection with Friday Street, but in the meantime there’s plenty to read about him on the Magna Carta celebrations

Click here for more information on the Magna Carta – Stephan Langton was Archbishop of Canterbury at the time of King John and signed the historic document in 1215.
